Plaid SLA credit guide
What Plaid's own agreement actually says about availability: no uptime percentage, no credit schedule and no claim process, so there is nothing to file for a bad month — plus where a service level for Plaid would live if you have one, and the outage record Ontracko keeps regardless.
What SLA credit does Plaid pay when it misses?
Plaid publishes NO availability SLA at all — no uptime percentage, no credit schedule and no claim process — so there is nothing to file for a bad month, and any "Plaid uptime guarantee" figure circulating elsewhere did not come from Plaid's own terms. If you have a service level with Plaid, it lives in your own Order Form or negotiated agreement — that document, not a public page, is where the commitment and any remedy actually are. Ontracko monitors Plaid for free either way and keeps the dated outage record, which is what a renewal conversation runs on. One more thing about the deadline, because Plaid not stating one is not the same as there being none: file promptly anyway. A contract can carry a limitation period nobody printed, evidence ages badly, and the status-page record a claim is built on is easiest to defend while it is fresh. If Ontracko shows a date against a Plaid claim, that date is our own monitoring reminder rather than anything Plaid set — we will never let it expire a claim, and you should never quote it to Plaid as their window.

Credit tiers by service
No filable service credit exists for Plaid (no availability SLA published — the public uptime figure is a data-provider obligation TO Plaid) under the standard agreement — not a tier table gap, a genuine zero. NO AVAILABILITY SLA IS PUBLISHED FOR PLAID'S API, AND THIS IS A DEFINITIVE FINDING RATHER THAN A FAILED SEARCH. Plaid's legal index at plaid.com/legal/ was read in full: it links end-user service agreements, the Developer Policy and privacy documents, and names no Master Services Agreement, no Service Level Agreement and no service-credit document. Plaid's Terms of Use publish no uptime commitment that Plaid owes the developers who build on its API, define no downtime for Plaid's own service and establish no availability credit. THE ONE AVAILABILITY FIGURE PLAID PUBLISHES RUNS THE OTHER WAY: it binds the banks and data providers that supply data TO Plaid, not Plaid to its API customers, and it carries no credit, no remedy and no filing deadline — so it is not a service level a customer could ever claim against, and it must not be read as Plaid's own SLA. Plaid's commercial Master Services Agreement is not published on plaid.com; it is accepted inside a developer's account at registration and visible only in the Plaid Dashboard, so it cannot be read or confirmed current from outside an account. IF A CUSTOMER HOLDS AN AVAILABILITY COMMITMENT OR A CREDIT SCHEDULE FOR PLAID, THE ONLY PLACE IT CAN LIVE IS THAT SIGNED AGREEMENT — unpublished, and not verifiable from here. Read that agreement before asserting any figure. Primary sources read 2 October 2026.
Is there a Plaid SLA credit to file?
No — there is nothing to file. Plaid's standard agreement doesn't pay a per-incident service credit, so filing a claim would go nowhere. Ontracko still tracks Plaid’s uptime record for free, which is real leverage in a renewal conversation even without a claimable credit.
Frequently asked
What is Plaid's SLA uptime commitment?
Plaid does not publish one. Its own agreement states no uptime percentage anywhere, so there is no commitment to quote — any figure attributed to Plaid elsewhere did not come from Plaid's terms. If you hold a negotiated Order Form, any availability commitment you have lives there.
Does Plaid pay an SLA service credit?
No — and there is no commitment behind it either. Plaid's published agreement states no uptime percentage and provides no service credit, so there is no figure to miss and nothing to file for a bad month. If you have a service level with Plaid, it lives in your own Order Form or negotiated agreement — that document, not a public page, is where any commitment and any remedy would be. Does Ontracko file Plaid SLA credit claims for me?
No — Plaid's standard agreement has no filable service credit, so Ontracko does not draft claims for it. Ontracko still monitors Plaid for free and tracks the uptime record, which is useful leverage at renewal.
